Elizabeth over at Table for Five is running a very cool contest. The winner of this contest will receive a year’s supply of Orville Redenbacher’s Natural Popcorn AND a one year subscription to Netflix. We love both movies and popcorn in this house, so it’s a natural (pun intended) for us. And, popcorn is a gluten free snack so my youngest can eat it. Plus, we’ve always thought that Orville’s microwave popcorn tastes way better than everyone elses. If you want to enter the contest you’ll need to hurry. With all the great gifts we all got for Christmas, everybody seems to be competing to use the big television. My oldest son always asks to use the big tv, but now that he got a wii for Christmas he’s dying to try it out on the big screen. He also got the 2nd Harry potter dvd game. All four of us got dvds. My son received The marine and my hubby received License To Wed. I received some Nascar dvds and a Nascar dvd board game. My youngest son got 2 Thomas the Train dvds, a Bob the Builder dvd and a Wiggles dvd. We’ll have to work this ou or create a waiting list for the tv. I call first dibs!

With Sweeny Todd coming out we’re of course seeing more interviews with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. When I saw the first one I couldn’t believe that Tim Burton still hasn’t combed his hair. Sweeny Todd opens in movies on 12/21/07.

David Beckham is the new ad persona for Armani underwear. He looks very hot in the pics I saw.

Jessica Alba has confirmed she’s pregnant. The baby is due in late spring or early summer.

Brad Pitt’s gotten himself a job. No, it isn’t because acting doen’t pay. It’s to help his Make It Right cause to rebuild New Orleans, which is where proceeds of the sales of hats and tshirts are going.

Scott Baio finally got married!

Britney was caught on videotape stealing a disposable lighter. The gas station owner of the store she stole it from isn’t filing a police report, and a member of the paparazzi went back in and paid for it. How crazy is that! Let’s enable her some more.

In more Britney news, had a court date regarding the custody of her children but didn’t show up, reportedly due to anxiety over the amount of press outside her home. Riiight.

The Richie Madden Foundation, aka Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, hosted a baby shower at the LA Free Clinic for 100 less fortunate expectant mothers. Over $150,000 of products were donated to the cause as gifts.

Along with helping the less fortunate, this holiday season we’re hearing more about celebs publicly supporting causes and charities.

Patrick Dempsey supports Breakaway from Cancer. His passion for the cause probably comes from watching his mother successfully battle ovarian cancer.

Courteney Cox is trying to promote awareness of the genetic disease epidermalysis bilosa, or eb. A person who has this has very fragile skin, which blisters when touched. She became aware of this rare disease because her manager’s sister’s son has it.
Claire Danes supports Donors Choose, which is a charity that the person donating chooses what the funds they’re donating will be used for.
Forrest Whittaker supports The Brain Trust, which funds research for neurological research. His grandmother had a brain tumor and with aggressive treatment lived years longer than expected.

Bradd Pitt’s cause Make It Right is building homes for Hurrican Katrina victims in New Orleans. He’s pledged $5 million dollars of his own personal fortune, and is asking both people and businesses to give. The cause is starting with 150 homes.

Mom Reviews has reviewed another dvd movie and is having a contest. If you’re a Pooh lover, you’re going to love this contest. The winner will get the dvd “My Friends Pooh and Tigger Super Sleuths Christmas Movie”. I have entered of course, because me and my youngest love to hang out on the couch together and watch Pooh movies with a big bowl of popcorn. We both love Winnie the Pooh. After being arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in three years, Kiefer Sutherland has begun his sentence of 48 days in jail. He will occupy a cell of his own and was assigned kitchen and laundry detail. The rest of his sentence includes five years probation, a $510.00 fine, an 18 mo alcohol education class and six months of weekly alcohol therapy sessions.

Ashlee Simpson’s had surgery to have a deviated septum repaired, but claims she doesn’t. Other celebs that recently cited health reasons for rhinoplasty include Karina Smirnoff, Jennifer Anniston, Cameron Diaz and Heidi Montag.

Within hours after winning Dancing with the Stars, news got out that Helio Castroneves’ engagement was called off. People who saw footage of the onscreen kiss between Helio and dance partner Julianne Hough wondered if that had anything to do with the breakup.
