First episode of Trust Me

Hopefully you caught the first episode of the new TNT series called Trust Me. I watched a preview copy of it last week and enjoyed it very much. It did make me realize that so often when people start a new job they don’t usually bring a lot of personal stuff with them but when they leave that job they have so much stuff that they almost need to call some moving companies to take all of their stuff out. Mason carried all of his things into Stu’s old office after being promoted. Stu’s office was full of stuff, I wonder where it all went. I wonder why Mason and Conner don’t share the new office. Sarah brought a box of personal things with her on the first day of work. Since she’ll be getting an office with a window, I bet when we see that episode it will have a lot more stuff than one box worth.

Clooney’s going back to the hospital

Recently it was confirmed the George Clooney will make one more appearance before the show comes to an end. The last episode is supposed to air on April 1  and Clooney filmed his scenes earlier this month so my guess is that we’ll see the episode sometime in March. I also read that Julianna Margulies will appear in the same episode.

Where’d Jarrod go?

You know Jarrod Fogle, the Subway guy, I haven’t seen him doing any commercials for the popular Subway franchise in a while now. I think the last one I saw was during Nascar season. With the economy being what it is I think eating out is a luxury that many people aren’t going to be able to afford anymore. I wonder if Jarrod will keep working with food related companies when his Subway gig is up. So anyway. Anyone seen Jarrod?

Burn Notice returning soon

I’m very excited because I’ve been seeing commercials for the new season os Burn Notice. Burn Notice is one of those shows that I can’t watch with only half my attention, or watch when I’m surfing. The action, plot and humor keeps me glued, which is why I love it. I can’t wait to find out  who Carla is and who she’s really working for, what will happen with Michael and Fi, and of course who burned Michael. Burn Notice returns on USA on 01/22/09.

School commercials

It dawned on me today that I don’t often see commercials for online or mail order schools any more. St Xavier University, located in Illinois, offers people in the field of nursing the opportunity to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing - Clinical Nurse Leader Masters Degree online. One of the best things about this online MS nursing course is that it’s being given by one of fifteen schools in the nation to be recognized for excellence of their program. I think that with the job market being the way it is right now we’re going to see more students choosing to go to school and more professionals choosing to advance their careers, which may mean that commercials for schools will start appearing once again.

Trust me

I’ve been seeing commercials for a new series called Trust Me. The series premieres on TNT on 01/26/09. It’s in the 10 pm est time slot which I found interesting because it made me wonder what content it has that might not be able to air earlier in the evening. The two main characters are Mason (portrayed by Eric McCormack  of Will and Grace) and Conner (portrayed by Tom Cavanagh of Ed). The men are two friend that work together in an advertising agency. The show is about the advertising business and the personal and professional relationships between the characters. It’s being called a drama but I’m hoping there’s some comedy as well.

Failure To Launch

I watched the movie Failure To Launch this past weekend. The movie was released in 2006 and stars Sarah Jessica Parker as Paula and Matthew McConaughey as Tripp.  In the movie Tripp is in his thirties and still lives at home with his parents (portrayed by Kathy Bates and Terry Bradshaw). Tripp’s parents hire Paula to start a relationship with Tripp with the goal of getting him to move out of their house. Tripp is supposed to be a yacht broker but there are no scenes of him working. He dresses like a teenager and doesn’t jewlery like Technomarine watches. There are a couple of scenes on a yacht and in a boatyard. Tripp’s got two friends who also apparently live at home and do nothing. Long story short Tripp finds out what Paula and his parents have been up to and gets mad and moves out. At the end their friends lock them in a room together and they make up. I enjoyed the movie.
