Maid In Manhattan

Are you a J Lo fan? I mean J Lo as an actress, not a singer. I’ve seen a couple of her movies and have enjoyed the ones that I’ve seen. One movie was Maid In Manhattan, which was on again today. In Maid In Manhattan J Lo is Marisa, a relatively poor, working class single mother. Marisa works at a hotel as a maid. While returning a hotel guest’s formal gowns a coworker persuades her to try one on. A single politician named Christopher sees Marisa in the gown and assumes she is a guest of the hotel and asks her out. Marisa and Christopher date. The truth that Marisa is not a wealthy socialite comes out and obviously complicates the relationship. Marisa is fired from her job and Christopher breaks off the relationship. Marisa finds another job. Her son Ty appears at a press conference that Christopher is giving at the hotel where Marisa works and convinces him to forgive his mother. The two end up together and the movie ends. It’s a cute story. It does make you think though. If Christopher believed Marisa was a socialite because she was wearing a gown, would he have believed she was a nurse if she was wearing a nurse uniform?
