Today I caught a show on E called The Fashion Police. I’ve never seen it before because fashion isn’t something I really find terribly important. I like what I like, and I am not a slave to fashion at all. Anyway. The show came on before I could get the remote to change the channel. After I saw that it was a show about fashion I got up to get the remote, but before I could get to it I found myself laughing. There were a few people sitting in a room watching footage of what celebs wore to the SAG awards. They each gave their opinions on what each celeb wore. At some points they were downright funny in their remarks. I don’t know if the show is intended to be funny, or if it only seemed that way to me. I decided it might be pretty funny if they had these people host some of the gossip shows, because their take on Hollywood mattress hopping could be hysterical.

The poster for the 80th annual Oscar awards is out and the contenders announced. Officials of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have said the show will go on, no matter if the writers are still striking or not. The Oscars awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on February 24, 2008. It was subtly said that a televised news conference announcing the winners, like the recent Golden Globes ceremony, is not the route they will consider. I’m thinking they’ll find a way to do something big, since it’s the 80th anniversary. Something celebs will want to get dolled up and wear their FP Jorne, jewelry and fancy clothes for. Stay tuned!

Due to the writers stike, the Golden Globes awards show had been cancelled and winners will be announced in a news conference. SAG advised members not to attend the awards show due to the picket lines. The news conference announcing the winners will be fully controlled by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which will save the $5 million that NBC pays them and Dick Clark productions to air the show. But, advertising revenue won’t be nearly what it would have been if the awards show had been held.

Wow. Imagine all of the stars that got themselves fitted for new outfits that they were never going to wear again anyway.

No word on what will happen with the Academy Awards next month.
