Would Pooh Be The Same Character If He Was Thin?

I love Winnie The Pooh, as does my youngest son. One of our favorite episodes has Pooh getting stuck in the door (hole) of Rabbit’s house. It took several days for him to lose enough weight to get out of the hole. I wonder what kind of character Pooh would have been if he’d been illustrated thinner, given some of the best diet pills as it were. I somehow doubt he’d have been a cheerful.

Growing Up And Outgrowing Favorite Shows

My youngest son gets hooked on a show and stays fascinated with it for a long time. His favorites include Barney, Blue’s Clues and currently Thomas The Train. As his interest in one show decreases his interest in another show will increase. One of the shows currently on his radar is Bob The Builder. He generally likes shows popular with children younger than himself. I know Bob has been popular for a while, I’ve seen Bob clothing, toys and linens. Never seen a Bob stroller. Actually that’s one thing that I haven’t seen many animated characters on - strollers and carriages. Hmmm. Anyway. What’s interesting is that as he grows up and finds new shows he won’t hesitate to sit down and watch an old favorite.

Family Guy is not a family friendly show

Does anyone else find it strange that Family Guy is on during the early evening? It is definitely not appropriate for children. It’s got lots of sexual references. It has some bad language. They show drinking and smoking regularly.  I find it very offensive because they use the word retarded inappropriately. Do you let your child watch Family Guy?

Transformers movie on dvd this week

Transformers the movie is releasing on dvd and bluray this week. I’m sure that many home viewers will be rolling out the red home theater carpet for this movie. I went to the Transformers movie website and saw that another Transformers movie is slated to open next summer. I admit, I haven’t seen this movie. I remember the Transformers cartoon and thought it was awful, which is why I haven’t seen the movie. I’ll wait and check it out when it comes onto one of the movie channels on television.

Star Wars Clone Wars

I don’t know how I missed hearing about this until today but I just learned that on August 15 the animated movie Star Wars The Clone Wars will open in theaters. I haven’t watched Star Wars since the days of Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi. I didn’t see any of the “newer” ones. Die hard Star Wars fans should make sure that they’ve got their plasma tv mounted because apparently this film will lead the way into a television series that will be broadcast starting this fall first on Cartoon Network and later on TNT. Have you seen all of the Star Wars movies? Which was your favorite?

Who remembers the Smurfs?

I sure do. I used to watch The Smurfs every weekend. I’m one of those people that like the “nicer” cartoons. There are many cartoons I dislike but there are a few that I think are so bad and so offensive I can actually say I hate them and have banned them in my house - Family Guy is one of those.

I found out a little over a week ago that the first season of the cartoon show The Smurfs was coming out on dvd. The release will be a two disc box set containing nineteen remastered and uncut episodes, a bonus episode and a music video, and will sell for approximately $26.99. The nineteen episodes will have a running time of 345 minutes. I can’t wait to watch this. I think my youngest son will enjoy it too.
