The brothers on Two and a Half Men

We watched some shows from the hard drive yesterday. I really enjoyed this past week’s episode of Two and a Half Men. The episode was called “The Devil’s Lube”. Emilio Estevez, real life brother to series star Charlie Sheen, appeared on the show as a buddy from Charlie’s past. Other than putting on a little weight (nothing most of us haven’t done and nothing a little Leptovox wouldn’t help with), Emilio looks the same as ever. The episode was pretty funny. My favorite part of the episode was actually when they gave Alan (Jon Cryer) some stand up type one liners at the funeral. Did you see this episode?

A comedy reality food show idea

Last month most of us learned the details of Michael Phelps’ 12,000 calorie a day in-training diet. He eats about 4,000 calories per meal, more than many of us eat in a typical day. He must eat out, because he certainly isn’t carting around all of his food in Swiss Army luggage. He must spend a while at the table during each meal. That got me to thinking. A funny reality show would be one that showcased people with high calorie diets eating in restaurants. It would be like the time my whole family went to Walt Disney World. My hubby RB can eat a lot. We were eating at the Brown Derby and most of us couldn’t finish our meals, so we offered them to RB. He finished his own plate and all of ours. The plates kept stacking up next to him and the server couldn’t believe that the tiny guy ate all of the food. He actually looked under the table to see if food had somehow made it’s way to the floor.

Farewell George Carlin

Comedian George Carlin passed away yesterday in Los Angeles from heart failure at the age of 71. George was well known for speaking his mind. Many comedians considered him to be revolutionary, blazing a trail for other comics after him. He had 23 comedy albums and wrote three books, and also appeared in several movies. It was just recently announced that the comedian was to be awarded the annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which will now be given posthumously. George Carlin is one of the first comedians I remember hearing. I loved his old material, such as A Place For My Stuff.  Goodbye George. We’ll miss you.

John Pinette

A friend from work loaned me a dvd. It was called “I’m Starvin” and it was a comedy performance by John Pinette. I thought it would be fun for me and the hubby to spend some quality time together so we watched this dvd performance. Boy am I glad we did, because we laughed our butts off. We only knew John Pinette as the guy who says the people at the all you can eat buffet told him to leave, saying “you been here four hour”. He was noticeably thinner in this performance, even thought much of the performance involved dieting, eating and food in one way or another. He mentioned losing almost 100 pounds but he didn’t specifically say how he lost the weight. Maybe he found the best diet pills that work. I’d be curious to know how he did it, because while still chubby he looked much better. If you’ve never watched a John Pinette performance, I recommend it highly for a good laugh.
