How many game consoles does one house need?

RB has decided that TJ’s “game room” is a little small for playing video games such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero, particularly when there is more than one person. So, his new idea is to take the console into the garage and connect it to the band’s sound board. When I asked him which console he meant he said he wanted to leave the wii in the house so it’d have to be the playstation 2. Then he decided it might be fun if we got a playstation 3 instead, because the new games don’t work on the ps2. Good grief! Some times I swear I have three boys and not two. And how many game consoles does one house need anyway? We have just about all of them including snes, n64, game cube, wii, playstation and ps2.

Xbox price cut announced

I read on MSNBC that prices on the Xbox 360 will be cut this Friday. The wii hasn’t been out as long as the Xbox and has sold more units. The price for the Xbox 360 Arcade will drop from $280 down to $200. The middle 60gb model will drop from $350 down to $300 and the high end Elite model willdrop from$450down to $400. Microsoft says they aren’t trying to take on the wii but rather share marketspace with it. Bull. I think Microsoft wants a bigger piece of the game console pie. They like to think they’re the best at everything. They’re not.

An almost perfect video

So my son’s got Rock Band connected to the big tv and is playing the guitar. He loves to watch Guitar Hero and Rock Band videos on You Tube, so I thought he’d like it if I got a good one of him to put up. He was playing a Nine Inch Nails song and was doing a great job. I was on his right and hubby was on his left on our giant sectional couch, which could probably pass as a form of home theater seating. We were both videoing him, I the tv screen and hubby our son. Part way through the video my hubby decided to announce his batteries died. I ignored him and continued to video. A minute later another announcement came that his batteries had died. My son finished shortly after, with an expert rating of 99%. I told him I’d gotten the whole thing on video and that I had stayed still the whole time to keep it steady. Then I told him Yappy had ruined it. I’m going to try it again.

Coming to a theater near you

Rock Band. My oldest son got the special edition Rock Band bundle for PS2 this week and hasn’t stopped playing it yet. Now he loves to watch the tv in the living room because it’s so big. And he loves video games. He often asks us if he can play Guitar Hero out here so we know the question of if he can play Rock Band out here will be coming soon. I haven’t announced this yet but I think it’d be fun to play it out here actually, so that everyone playing would have more room. I’m just hoping I don’t get dizzy like I did by the end of my turn playing Guitar Hero.

Perhaps we should schedule to use the tv

With all the great gifts we all got for Christmas, everybody seems to be competing to use the big television. My oldest son always asks to use the big tv, but now that he got a wii for Christmas he’s dying to try it out on the big screen. He also got the 2nd Harry potter dvd game. All four of us got dvds. My son received The marine and my hubby received License To Wed. I received some Nascar dvds and a Nascar dvd board game. My youngest son got 2 Thomas the Train dvds, a Bob the Builder dvd and a Wiggles dvd. We’ll have to work this ou or create a waiting list for the tv. I call first dibs!
