Who will we see next on CI?

Me and hubby watch all three of the Law and Order shows. It’s not always easy to say which is our favorite because we like different aspects about all three. It was announced today that Chris Noth will be leaving Law and Order CI at the end of this season. I would never have guessed in a hundred years the actor that they’ve signed on to fill the spot that will be open with Noth gone. It’s Jeff Goldblum! Yes, the Jeff Goldblum that was in Independence Day and Jarassic Park Jeff Goldblum. He’ll share the lead actor spotlight with Vincent Donofrio just like Chris Noth did. I’m so curious to see how they write his character.

Cat scans on tv

You’ve probably seen the use of medical diagnostics on tv shows like Law and Order and House, as well as on other shows including soap operas. In this case I’m referring to a diagnostic imaging test called a cat scan. They never show a character having any type of reaction to the contrast that is sometimes injected for that test. Some normal reactions to this contrast include experiencing a funny taste, a warm flush of the face or body, sensation in the bladder and nausea. Can you imagine the character of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital thinking that he peed on the table when he recently went through all of that testing?  Maybe they don’t mention it because they’re afraid viewers will be distracted from the storyline or something.

Jesse Martin leaving Law and Order

What is happening to all of my favorite tv shows? I read recently that Jessie Martin, the actor who plays Ed Green, is leaving the series Law and Order. He’s been on the series since 1999. The article I read mentioned he will be portraying Marvin Gaye in the movie Sexual Healing which is due out in 2009 and will costar James Gandolfini. I guess there’s a little hope, as Martin temporarily left the show once before to star in the film Rent. Did we ever find out what happened to the character of Dennis Farina?

Robin Williams on SVU

Oh hello! (That was in my Mrs Doubtfire voice.) I read an announcement that Robin Williams will be guest starring on Law and Order Special Victims Unit. He’ll be appearing in the show’s 200th episode, which has yet to be filmed and will air on April 29, 2008. The episode will be entitled Authority. According to the SVU spokeswoman Pam Golum, the character Robin Williams will be portraying is “an engineer whose life has gone terribly wrong and who faces serious repercussions”. We love all three of the Law and Order shows, but SVU is our favorite. We’re really looking forward to this one because we both think Robin Williams is a terrific actor.

Shows I have a season pass to as of 10/10/07

Let me start by sharing with you shows I currently watch every week. I have a season pass set up on our living room Tivo for most if not all of them. Tivo’s season pass allows the viewer to schedule all or just some episodes of a tv series. This list doesn’t include what we watch occasionally, anything we watch on a whim , movies or news - it’s just current recurring series.
Soaps. I only watch ABC soaps. All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital.
Comedy. Til Death.
Drama. Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Law and Order Criminal Intent, ER.
I just started watching these shows this season. Some are new, one is not. Two and a Half Men, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Dirty Sexy Money, Big Love, Burn Notice, The Dead Zone.
