Dirty Sexy Money to return 10/01/08

I loved this show last season! It’s got a bit of everything in it. They did a terrific job casting all of the characters, and I think the interaction and chemistry between them all is great. We haven’t had a new episode since December, so I’m betting everyone will return looking rested and like they’ve been on one of those fancy European cruises. I want to know why Simon and Karen are meeting. I think Brian would fit into the Darling scheming corporate world well now that he’s been disbarred. And will we find out what happened to Carmelita? Lucy Liu is joining the show as an attorney, I wonder how they’re going to tie that in.

Comfortable viewing

Ok, I was wondering today where you are most comfortable watching television. Meaning, in what room and on what furniture.  My favorite room to watch tv in is the living room. I cannot watch tv in bed, I almost always fall right asleep. I’m most comfortable on the left side of my couch (it’s a sectional) sitting sort of sideways. Our couch has a built in recliner but I’m never comfortable in that. The rocking chair is not comfy to sit in long term, english saddles are probably more comfortable. Where is your favorite place to watch television?

Watching while you wait

More and more doctor’s waiting rooms seem to have nice flat panel televisions in them nowadays. I’m all for it, after all most of the time the office has scheduled so poorly that you end up having to wait. The offices seem to have stuck with the discount furniture though. They’re probably afraid if they had comfy furniture we’d all take naps or move in. Does your doctor’s office have a television?

A comedy reality food show idea

Last month most of us learned the details of Michael Phelps’ 12,000 calorie a day in-training diet. He eats about 4,000 calories per meal, more than many of us eat in a typical day. He must eat out, because he certainly isn’t carting around all of his food in Swiss Army luggage. He must spend a while at the table during each meal. That got me to thinking. A funny reality show would be one that showcased people with high calorie diets eating in restaurants. It would be like the time my whole family went to Walt Disney World. My hubby RB can eat a lot. We were eating at the Brown Derby and most of us couldn’t finish our meals, so we offered them to RB. He finished his own plate and all of ours. The plates kept stacking up next to him and the server couldn’t believe that the tiny guy ate all of the food. He actually looked under the table to see if food had somehow made it’s way to the floor.

Oprah’s Olympic Opening

Next Monday the Oprah show will premiere featuring 150 Olympic athletes including phenomenal Michael Phelps. (Some ladies, including me, probably ought to wear a pulse oximeter when we watch Phelps because his body is so hot physique is so inspiring. Oprah is having the Olympians on the show to welcome them back and to showcase Chicago, since Chicago is one of the four finalists in the running to host the 2016 Olympics.

Why do shows made for cable take so long to make?

I saw a spot on HBO that said the series Big Love is in production and will air again in 2009. 2009! Why does it always take almost 2 years for made for cable series like Big Love to air? We first noticed this with The Sopranos. The episodes for these shows are an hour long, like many popular daytime and nighttime dramas. Those shows film a couple of months ahead. So why does it take so long for shows made for cable to air? I’d love to know. Leave a comment if you know why or if it just aggravates you too.

90210 sightings

I’ve been seeing commercials for the new 90210 which premieres tomorrow. I saw some clips from the show and a couple of interviews with some of the cast members. Think young. Teen characters who in real life would need to consider acne treatments are once again being portrayed by actors and actresses who don’t look their real age. And Jennie and Shannon still look young.

Raising The Bar premiere tonight

A new legal drama called Raising The Bar is set to premiere tonight. It’s different from the other legal dramas on television in that it focuses on the lives of attorneys from the Public Defenders office and the District Attorney’s office both in and out of the courtroom. Raising The Bar premieres tonight and will be shown on TNT at 10pm/9pm central.

Is there a diet television channel?

I don’t mean a channel selling diet pills or anything like that. I mean a channel that dieters could use for support, inspiration and instruction. It could have healthy cooking shows, exercise shows, reality shows and other similar shows. Maybe someone could even create a diet game show, guessing caloric values or something. I find it difficult to believe that noone’s ever thought of this. So, have any of you ever seen a diet channel on television anywhere?

Automobile commercials

Am I the only one who’s seeing less and less automobile commercials? It used to feel like every other commercial on television was for an automobile. I used to see Honda, Toyota, Kia and Nissan ads constantly. I understand trimming the fat with a little Fenterdren, but I’d think now more than ever ad execs would be trying to come up with ways to sell the fuel efficient cars since the suv’s aren’t selling. So am I being silly or have you noticed this too?
